Jane Austen July Reading Wrap Up
I am sorry I have been so absent on this blog. I have been reading SO MUCH that I have had little time for doing much else. July was no exception. I took place in Jane Austen July hosted by Katie from Books and Things. I loved the prompts and figured I would use this reading challenge as a way to reread some favourites as well as read through many of the books on my Jane Austen shelf that I have not read yet. Not all items I read or watched are in the photos, but I have listened them below, with their respective prompts.
1) Read one of Jane Austen’s six main novels
I read all six of Austen’s main novels. My order of how I enjoy these six books moved around a bit. The order I read them in interestingly went from least favourite to favourite. In order from least favourite to favourite: Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Northanger Abbey.
2) Read something by Jane Austen that is not one of her six main novels
I read Lady Susan, Edgar and Emma, The Watsons, and Sandition.
3) Read a non-fiction work about Jane Austen or her time
The World of Jane Austen by Nigel Nicolson
4) Read a retelling of a Jane Austen book
