Pulp Friction by Julie Anne Lindsey has One Heck of an Ending!
Pulp Friction by Julie Anne Lindsey is the second novel in the Cider Shop Mystery series.
I was initially drawn to this book because of the cider. I am a huge cider lover and the crazier the flavour I can find the better.
The setting was very strong and one I would like to visit again. I enjoyed all the different characters. However, there were a lot of characters and at times I got a little overwhelmed trying to keep them all straight.
Initially, I was going to give this book 3 stars because for me the story seemed a little longer than it needed to be and slow in some parts. Everything else was enjoyable and of course lots of cider.
However, the ending was phenomenal! I enjoy cozy mysteries, but I find all of the endings very predictable. I thought I had this figured out, and I was wrong. It was a nice and refreshing surprise. For the ending, I have bumped it up to 5 stars.
I was excited to visit this series again, but the ending has me even more stoked. I cannot wait to see if all of Lindsey’s endings are as unpredictable. If you want a cozy mystery with a twisted ending, I suggest Pulp Friction.
I received an eARC from Kensington Books through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.
